Our four-legged family members grow up and age far too quickly, and their stories deserve to live out in the open on our walls, not in the "doghouse" of being a folder in your photos app. If you have been dreaming about documenting your pup’s unique personality, choosing the right spot is the first step! As an Orlando portrait photographer, I love exploring local hidden gems. Today, I’m sharing three of my absolute favorite dog-friendly photo locations around Central Florida, along with a very special summer event you won’t want to miss.
1. Kraft Azalea Garden (Winter Park, FL)
Tucked away on the shore of Lake Maitland, Kraft Azalea Garden is an absolute dream for pet portraits. With its massive, sweeping cypress trees and beautiful Spanish moss, it provides a majestic, natural backdrop that makes every photo feel timeless. It’s quiet, shaded, and perfect for pups who love a relaxed stroll under a canopy of green.
2. Baldwin Park & Lake Baldwin Park (Orlando, FL)
If your dog loves the energy of the water, Baldwin Park is a fantastic choice. The tree-lined sidewalks and lakeside views offer a beautiful mix of organic textures and clean, classic backgrounds. Plus, the nearby sandy off-leash beach area is perfect for capturing those playful, high-energy candid moments that truly show off your pup's unique personality.
3. Shady Park & Park Avenue (Winter Park, FL)
For a more classic, upscale look, Shady Park in downtown Winter Park offers gorgeous brick pathways, beautiful landscaping, and plenty of oak trees. It’s a wonderful spot for a sunset session, and you can easily walk down Park Avenue afterward for a dog-friendly patio treat to celebrate a successful photoshoot.

If your beloved companion is entering their golden years and traveling feels like a chore, the best location isn't a park—it's the home where they feel safest. For senior pups (like my dear friend Lauren's dog!), I offer cozy, low-stress backyard or living room portrait sessions. We can capture their beautiful legacy right in their favorite sunbeam, with zero travel required.
