A Downtown Orlando Courthouse Wedding for Mr. and Mrs. Grimaldi

There is something incredibly special about photographing a courthouse wedding in the heart of downtown Orlando. The pace is slower, the emotions feel closer, and the moments unfold with a kind of quiet magic. Being invited to document Mr. and Mrs. Grimaldi’s wedding day was an honor on its own, but this one held an extra layer of meaning for me. She is a dear friend, and we spent months of our pregnancies side by side, counting down to the days our babies would arrive. My daughter is only a few months older than her sweet boy, which made witnessing this milestone feel even more personal.

It was also my very first time photographing a wedding. Stepping into that role for someone I care about was both humbling and incredibly special. I will always be grateful that she trusted me with such an important moment in her family’s story.

A Beautiful Morning at the Orange County Courthouse

The Orange County Courthouse is a wonderful place for intimate Orlando weddings. The clean architecture, soft natural light, and the energy of downtown create a timeless backdrop for couples who want something simple, meaningful, and full of heart. The Grimaldis arrived with that unmistakable glow that comes from choosing love with complete certainty. Their ceremony was short and sweet, but every moment was filled with intention.

As an Orlando wedding photographer, I love capturing the in between moments that often go unnoticed. The way he looked at her while they waited for their turn. The way she smoothed his jacket before stepping inside. The quiet excitement that filled the hallway. These are the moments that become heirlooms.

A Celebration Close to the Heart

Photographing a friend’s wedding is always emotional, but this one felt like a full circle moment. We had shared pregnancy updates, newborn stories, and the beautiful chaos of early motherhood. Standing behind the camera while she became a wife felt like witnessing another chapter of her story unfold. It reminded me why I love this work so much. Photography is not just about images. It is about connection, legacy, and honoring the people we love.

After the ceremony, we stepped outside into the warm Orlando light for family portraits. Within minutes, the sky shifted and a soft rain began to fall. Instead of letting the weather slow us down, we embraced it. There is something so romantic about a little rain on a wedding day, especially during an intimate courthouse celebration. The Grimaldis laughed, held each other close, and trusted the process. Despite the weather, we captured some of my favorite images from the entire day. The rain added a touch of spontaneity and tenderness that made their portraits feel even more genuine.

For families who value authenticity and connection, the Orange County Courthouse is a beautiful place to begin a marriage. It offers a timeless setting for couples who want meaningful images without the pressure of a large event.
